The rapper was killed yesterday
Nipsey Hussle was reportedly set to meet with police chiefs less than 24 hours after he was gunned down in Los Angeles.
The rapper was shot and killed yesterday (March 31) outside of his Marathon Clothing Company store in the Hyde Park neighbourhood of Los Angeles, south of the Crenshaw area, according to CBS News.
While eyewitnesses claimed to have heard multiple shots fired, law enforcement officials have confirmed that two other men are in serious condition, and a suspect remains at large.
TMZ have reported that the shooting was gang-related. Nipsey had been a longtime affiliate of LA street gang the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips, something he publicly acknowledged on record.
In a tragic twist to the story, it has now transpired that he was due to meet with the LAPD today (April 1) to discuss initiatives and strategies to keep teenagers away from gang crime.
Posting on Twitter, LA Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff, wrote: “We ( LAPDChiefMoore and I ) were meeting , at the request of NipseyHussle with him and rocnation tomorrow at 4pm to talk about ways he could help stop gang violence and help us help kids. I’m so very sad.”
He added: .” NipseyHussle RIP sir. Many of us will join together to stop what ever caused your, and so many other tragic unnecessary killings.”
The rapper’s death came only hours after he tweeted that “having strong enemies is a blessing.”
